Ambition and emotion
A veritable race for the best athletes has ensued during recent months, the result of which has created the strongest teams ever for the race. At least ten of them can reckon with a realistic chance of winning. And to name a few: Uri, after taking fourth place and then third one year later (2007, 2008), has set its sights on its first victory. Leysin is attempting to set itself apart in the endurance stages with numerous world-class triathletes. And the Swiss Bulls intend on defending the title and Silver Eagle with a top-class team. All other victorious candidates not mentioned here should take this as an incentive to bring off the major coup on 5 June.
The entire story of the Red Bull Jungfrau-Stafette, however, will be written by the
from 16 cantons, as well as one from England and one from Austria. Over 600 athletes will carry the relay batons throughout Switzerland on 5 June 2010.
